Incredible black corn that even grows in the north! A dark purple, super anthocyanin-rich corn flour. This variety is a Nordic tribute adapted to the legendary Maiz Morado/Kulli corn from Peru. Perfect for northern gardeners who have always dreamed of growing dark purple corn to infuse into the popular and healthy corn drink, Chicha Morada. This slightly variable North American variety is well suited to very long summer days and cool nights, but will also do well (and ripen even earlier) in areas with shorter days. The short, stocky plants produce an average of 2-3 spikes per plant, with long, slender 8-row spikes. Can also be ground into an extremely soft and delicious flour.
