This delicate butterhead is the crown jewel of the heritage garden. The tender, yellow hearts are slightly pinkish and the leaves are ethereal sweet with the signature sweet, buttery flavor of an old-school European type of butterhead. Manageable medium sized buds with early ripening and soft, silky leaves made her a popular European heirloom in the early 19th century. Plant early in the spring or fall for a treat gourmet chefs love. Matures in about 50 days for full, loose butterheads, or less for young shoots.
